Hi,
Meet again after a very long break!!
My mother has passed away last Saturday and sorry for sharing the grieves with you all.
What I would like to share today is that a feeling of love, caring and relationships.
Sometimes we didn't realised what is really happening around us. Busy with working, our daily life just like a wheel, spinning every moment continuously.
In regards to what I have said earlier there are many ways that Allah wanted to tells us a lesson. I have learned so much by my mother passing away. Because of my daily time I have very limited times to meet with all my family member, if not to say seldomly, especially relatives at my mom and dad's level.
With my mother departed all relatives coming to pay tribute for their last time. Its really tough to learned that Allah would like to convey message about relationships and love. Without my mom passing away I would have gone the same feeling day to day. But this time I really learned feelings that seem to be departed from my life slowly.
All relatives managed to meet, asking so many things and chats. Without this I don't think we have this golden chance to meet at fostering our relationship. But the way that Allah wants me and all my relatives to learn is really tough...I have to let go my mom which I will missed her...
I missed you mom...a lot...
So for those who really have their mom and dad around please do look after them well while they are still around...
Hope this will give some thought i guess...
sincerely,
zainudin

WHAT IS LEARNING?
Hi guys,
We meet again.
Before start discussing the parents role in educating their children I think it is best to start of by defining the definition of learning. By understanding the concept our discussion will be more fruitful.
Learning for many people is something related to the process of acquiring skills, knowledge or other things that will help individuals to perform in their daily life. According to Educational Psychologists, learning is referred to the process through which experience causes permanent change in knowledge or behaviour. As Hill (2002) noted that the change may be deliberated or unintentional, for better or for worse, correct or incorrect, and conscious or unconscious.
The changes however should happen by experience, where people involve in their daily interaction. This process is theorefore not by maturation but more by experience, where the individual really aware of the process.
So, no matter we realised or not, it happened to us, everyday, every moment. The differences is however depends very much by the quality of the learning that every person have gone through. In the next discussion i will try to relate this to the educational context and how we can at least contribute or influence that learning process to be as much as positive as possible.
Till then thank you.
See you again next time.

EDUCATION
Today I would like to talk about
education. Most of us think that education is something to do with the process
of acquiring living skills. The acquiring process is therefore intended for the
personal development of an individual.
When
we talk about education we cannot avoid of talking the process. The process of
how people live in this world, interact with their environment, including the
parents, other family members, neighbours, society, or in a bigger perspectives
the country where they live. It shows that every element in this world
contribute to the process of learning either directly or indirectly,
intentionally or unintentionally.
Parents
for instance, have been considered as a major player for educating new
generation. Through them, the individuals learn a lot of what so called living
skills. This is the first chance for the individual to learn many things. As
such, parents need to provide a 'high quality' example by sharing experiences,
information, skills, attitude, personality and many more – learn through example
just like Prophet Muhammad SAW . Without this the transferring process cannot
be materialised. Even in Islam it is clearly stated the parents function in
educating their children - it becomes compulsory, no excuses!!
As
parents, it is very crucial to see our function as an 'information
contributor'. In order to share a high quality and sufficient information with
our children we really need to understand the role itself as well as the skills
needed to functioning. Knowledge without skills may not be useful. But more to
that, skills without understanding the importance of sharing and how that
should be done is even worse. In other words, without competency and skills of
sharing the knowledge and information, the transferring process will be
problematic.
I
will continue the discussion on the skills required by parents in our next
meeting. Until then, reviewing our capability and willingness is crucially
required form time to time.
Thank
you very much.

ISSUES IN EDUCATION
People once said that educating people is belongs to teachers and parents.
This perception is true I guessed in certain ways. Much of the kids life is either in schools or homes.
Islam did mention about the factors that can influence the personal development. Many would also agree the same, as they feels that parents and teachers contribute the most of the educational process. I think this perception need to be review, or in-fact to be review all the time.
I still remember when I was a kid, I mean during my school days time, the contribution of my parents and my teachers is fundamental. Seems like they were the orchestrator of my personal development. At least what I can say is that they have played their roles effectively - thank you Ayah, Mak and all of my teachers.
Seems to me however, the other parts of the society are also essential. My brothers, my sisters, aunties, uncles, grannies, cousins and others are also prominent to my personal development. Apart from that the society, in this matter the people surroundings where I live, is also important.
This is to show how important every elements in this world, including flora and fauna, in contributing the 'patterns' or 'mold' to the human personal development. Any comments!
I don't me 'review' for changes, but it is more to strengthen the understanding that personal development is not the parents, or the teachers, or any one of the elements in the world, but it is a job for everyone of us.
My understanding is very simple:
"It takes less than 20 years to produce a highly specialised person, but
It will takes thousands of years to produce a well being person"
I will comeback with more interesting related issues.
Thank you.

HELLO
Hi,
This is the first time I am writing in the web. Much of my idea have been shared through books, articles for the conference and seminars, journals, monograph, module. Most of them however is more to teaching of Educational Psychology.
Now, the intention becomes more. I think, part of my knowledge and understanding becomes part of the society. As such, it is my honour to initiate a medium not just for me but for everybody, to share which what has been previously expected for the teaching programme.
Through this perhaps, I can share my expertise in such a way for everybody to benefit of what previously been perceived exclusively for teacher training programme - Educational Psychology.
With that I would be very happy if this will create of interest of people in discussing issues related to educational psychology. In other words, field that previously considered as 'exclusive' become something important for everybody in regards to educating new generation. This I think will include every parts of the society - the parents, the schools, teachers, society, or even the policy makers.
I would like to welcoming everybody to my blogspots and appreciate every comments and suggestions made.
Thank and welcome!
Sincerely,
Zainudin Abu Bakar
