OBSERVATIONAL LEARNING AGAIN...

Assalamualaikum...

Wish you all with happy life under His Blessings...

Its again about observational learning. I was taught by my parents, my teachers how important observation to the learning process. In fact in Islam its clearly stated when Rasulullah PBUH when he about to teach about performing solat. He requires the observer to watch him performing it and how they need to copy it.

Now I realised how critical the observational processes to the learning. This morning I was watching one of my colleageu. To my view he is such a guy which always trying to demonstrate how to be a good person, not to mention a good muslim. It happened he park his car not in the spaces provided but on the free spaces in front of the lots. Although there still plenty of places available he opted to parked at the free spaces which sometimes distracting and troubling other drivers to come in and out from the parking.

To me its proven how difficult to consistent all the times - what we say and what we do. This fellow talks so much about values in life. But in the case of demonstrating what being said is not always happen. Parking at the wrong place which sometimes troubling others implying of multiple characteristics of the person - selfish, ignorance, hard headed, intolerance, and such. I hope his action is not purposely demonstrated, or making personal assumption such as the thinking that later people will be parking here anyway. If that is the case I think we need to look back our own practices.

To be consistent in everything is not easy. Words and actions in reality not always comes together. Sometimes we likes to say something good or bad, but when comes to ourselves especially if the things critically related to our interest and favour the needs for consistency will no longer relevant. Either ways we should admit the importance of being consistent in life. Children need this in their learning process. Without proper examples their learning processes will be problematic and confusing.

Hopefully one day I could become a person that practice the right action and attitude, and always consistent in whatever I say to whatever I do. Because to I found that this is among the toughest things to do in my life...

Thank you for now...

  1. You mean walk the talk? And yes, consistency IS the keyword. It upholds your beliefs. For example, i believe that everyhing has its place. Turns out this is supported by our Rasululllah SAW too. For example, rubbish should be in the dustbin no less. So i try to instill this on my son. Alhamdulillh, now he searches for the bin whenever he wants to throw rubbish even if it is just a sweet wrapper. Constant reminder and actions do lead to habitual formation.
